These fun, engaging St. Patrick’s Day themed activities that help kids build emotional skills in a meaningful way! This month, I’m sharing two free social-emotional learning (SEL) printables that make it easy to practice mindfulness and gratitude—all while embracing the green, the gold, and the rainbow!

These activities are designed to be simple, stress-free, and highly effective for helping kids develop emotional awareness, self-regulation, and a positive mindset.

🌈 Rainbow Breathing Exercise

Deep breathing is a powerful tool for managing emotions, and this Rainbow Breathing printable turns it into a fun, visual exercise that kids will love!

How It Works:

• Start at the red section of the rainbow and follow the arrows.

Red – Inhale

Orange – Exhale

Yellow – Inhale

Green – Exhale

Blue – Inhale

Purple – Exhale

For an added mindfulness boost, kids can visualize objects that match each color while breathing in and out. This helps them stay focused and engaged while calming their nervous system.

Best of all, once kids learn this technique, they can use it anytime, anywhere—even without the printable!

🏆 “Pot of Gold” Gratitude Activity

Gratitude is a key ingredient in emotional resilience, and this “I Am Lucky” Pot of Gold activity makes it fun and interactive!

How It Works:

• Kids cut out the gold coins and write down things they feel lucky (or grateful) for.

• They place the coins into a printable pot of gold or collect them in a small mini pot (like this one from Amazon).

• Encourage them to reflect on why each thing makes them feel lucky!

Practicing gratitude helps kids shift their mindset to focus on the positives, building confidence and emotional well-being.
